Polo Experience Details
All Polo Experience sessions are carried out by Hurlingham Polo Association (HPA) qualified instructors, their skills, knowledge and instructional qualifications are unrivalled, so you can be sure of receiving the very best instruction at some of the most stunning polo locations throughout the UK.
After welcoming coffee and biscuits and safety briefing from your HPA instructor, you will receive an introduction to the rules of polo, the meaning of ‘the right of way’ and the ‘line of the ball’, before taking to the polo grounds where you will learn about the infamous polo mallet and varied shots, culminating in practice shots with polo balls.
Then it’s time to meet the polo pony that you will ride for the rest of your experience. All Polo Experience ponies are well schooled and perfectly safe for riders of all abilities. Once you are kitted out in the required safety gear, you will get on to your polo pony for some instructional riding. We ride polo ponies one handed, similar to ‘cowboy style’, so it is important to experience this safely. Once you have grasped the maneuverability of your skilled polo pony, it’s off to put everything in to practice in an instructional chukka. Its down to you now to score your first goal!! GOOD LUCK!
Polo Experiences are available at weekends through out the year and on Friday nights at some locations. For groups we can arrange for specific dates, based on location – just contact us for details.
